Five Years, Five Club Excellence Awards!
The Downtown Rotary Club of Palestine is proud and humbled to announce that we have once again earned the Rotary International Club Excellence Award—formerly known as the Rotary Citation.
And this one gives us a pretty good reason to celebrate: we’re officially 5 for 5!
Since our club was founded five years ago, we have earned this distinction every single year of our existence. Even more exciting, only 13 of the 41 Rotary clubs in our district received the Club Excellence Award this year.
Not bad for the new kids on the Rotary block. 😉
What Is the Club Excellence Award?
The Rotary International Club Excellence Award recognizes clubs that achieve important goals throughout the Rotary year—goals designed to strengthen clubs, increase their impact, engage members, support The Rotary Foundation, grow Rotary’s reach, and make a meaningful difference in their communities.
For us, though, the award represents something even bigger.
It represents our members.
It’s the hours spent volunteering, the projects that started as ideas around a table, the community partnerships we’ve built, the new members we’ve welcomed, the funds we’ve raised and given back, and the Rotarians who continue to show up whenever there is work to be done.
Our club may only be five years old, but from the beginning, our members have believed that a Rotary club can serve its community, build genuine friendships, try new things—and have a whole lot of fun doing it.
This past year, Rotary challenged us to Unite for Good, and our members answered that call.
Now, as we begin a new Rotary year under the theme Create Lasting Impact, we’re ready to build on what those connections have created and turn them into action that lasts.
We are incredibly proud of what our members have accomplished together, grateful to be part of a district filled with Rotarians doing good work, and honored to once again be recognized by Rotary International.
Five years down. Five Club Excellence Awards. And we’re just getting started. 💙💛
